Hey, I'm always so frustrated with deleting old episoded cause its so much button clicking ;-)
Is there any way we could implement a "trash bin" into one of the stv's where all watched episodes go into so you can just can see all watched episodes in one folder and delete them with one click?
I just think that'd be neat.

no way
I have multi users in the house and if I watch a show before someone or if they watch a show before me then I would have to or they would have to dig through the trash for the show
not cool
multi user accounts would solve this but why not just let SageTV delete the watched shows ?

A better way might be to have a Maintenance screen that lists all of your shows to be considered for deletion. It would allow you to use the down arrow and select (OK) buttons on your remote and to toggle each show to delete. Then have a screen Delete Button you could navigate to and select. Then there could also be a Delete All for the adventurous. there could be a delete by Category or by Title option ... etc.
Anyway ... just some thoughts ...
Thanks, T.

That's what i was thinking too. I basically would like a folder that, by default, SHOWS all watched shows. You can than delete them all if you wish or marke some to stay. it's so tedious to delete different shows at a time right now.

Might be a good idea.
Not useful for ther vast majority of Sage users though, I expect. Most people just let Sage manage the space and delete them as it needs space.

I agree. I am much too anal retentive to let the drive fill up and then let Sage delete automatically. I clean out the drive either through Sage, if it's just a few shows, or through the OS, if it has been awhile. I'm one of those people that defrags all of my drives weekly whether they need it or not.
In the short-term, I would be happy to even just have the "Delete Now" option movied higher in the menu list, so I don't have to scroll down. I'm using the Nielm STV and I've seen some posts about the menus being modifiable. Would it be possible to do that?
EDIT: http://www.sage-community.org/~nielm/nielm_stv/menu.html
Luckily, I am the only user of my system, so I don't have to worry about premature deletion.

Sorry to get off topic, but you should avoide defragging your hard drive that much. Excessive defragging WILL shorten the life of your hard drive. Its the equivalent of driving your car every hour so the oil doesnt settle. May create some well circulated oil, but the mechanical parts of the engine wont like the extra use soo much.
(pardon my poor comparison)
