Audio "chirping"...

While simply viewing live tv, the audio "degrades" over time and develops annoying artifacts that resemble robot birds, and are metallic and impossible to tolerate. Chirps from hell.

M-audio AP2496 sound card. Windows XP. P4 2.5 G.

That's a hardware problem with the Hauppauge drivers you are using. It happened to me in the past and upgrading the drivers got rid of the problem.

Which Hauppauge software version(s) are everyone using -(successfully) ? :D

I would go to SHS's forum to see what the latest release is or go to his website at shspvr.com.

LCH - also make sure you are running the latest beta drivers for your Maudio card (the 5031 drivers I believe).
