Just to add to the common knowledge...
I have been fighting a situation where the OSD comskip was being very flakey. It would come to a skip point and erratically skip to someplace past where it should have. The video would be at the correct place, but the OSD would be way past that point and the playback was jerky and out of sync. This has been frustrating me for a couple of weeks.
I think I have found the totally counterintuitive solution to the problem.
I was using the Cyberlink Audio Decoder that comes with Cyberlink PowerDVD because of some nice features in the filter. For whatever reason, this audio decoder was causing the problem. Why the audio decoder filter would cause this, I don't know, but it did.
File this away for future reference.
