Selling one of my five HD300s.

This HD300 is in excellent, working condition. As pictured above this includes the HD300 itself, the remote, power supply, AV Cable and IR Extender (receiver cable).
Box & manual are not included, but I can send a PDF copy of the manual if you need it.

$300 gets you all of the above and includes priority mail shipping within the USA.

I can get it working outside of Sage with absolutely perfect playback. But, when using Sage the same file will play but only display a green screen.

After going back and forth with Sage support for a week they claim it's an ATI driver problem. However, I tried on my Nvidia based machine with the same results.

Anyone FFDShow DXVA video decoder working?

Projectors for Home Theater

In the past I have never payed much attention when the topic came up but now that I'm moving into a house where I could put one in I started looking into this.

What did you guys have put together? I assume what happend with Sage didn't make you dismantle what you have.

As to the projector to buy I'm not sure if I need 3D - in fact I have no idea what to expect in terms of PQ. The projectors that I use at work are quite basic and make me wonder if it's even worth the money considering that I have a new 62" plasma.

How large did you go?

Migrating from analog cable to Directv HD

I have set myself the end-of-year goal of migrating from analog cable to Directv HD. My current setup is very stable and i'd like the new setup to be as close to that as possible (probably never will be, but i'll try)

My current hardware plan is as follows

(4) HD Directv Boxes (non DVR models) (any recommendations?)

(4) 1X2 HDMI splitters (mentioned in other threads) (uhh cough, just in case I ever want to split the feed from each STB wink wink :D)

(4) HDPVR2 (1512) (STB--HDMI--Splitter--HDMI--HDPVR)

USBUIRT tuning or Ethernet (undecided other than NOT by HDPVR)

Some kind of quality USB card for connecting all the HDPVR's to server (suggestions?)

(2) 2250's (locals) (4 HD tuners)

RAID 0+1 (2TB) for recordings (all hardware) (should be sufficient right?)

My understanding (correct me if i'm wrong) is that with this "configuration:D" I should be able to have the same functionality from my STB's as if they were just connected directly to a tv without sage involved? (and regardless if something might be "ticked" if you get my drift)

Any and all suggestions, comments, etc welcomed:) (java versions, firmware versions, usb cables, internal vs external usb hubs, tuning (whatever you got)

Capitals in filenames

Hi,

I have a bunch of filenames that have capitals in them "MythBusters" which happens to match the way the show is named on thetvdb.com

I checked the logs and when it searches thetvdb, it is searching for Myth+Busters, which is returning no results. I guess BMT is splitting words based on capitals.

I'm trying to figure out how to add a matcher based on the filename (The filenames are named MythBusters sXXeYY.mkv:

MythBusters
73388

I think I did this right, but I'm not sure - it still isn't matching.

I have a few questions:

1) If I add to the xml directly, do I have to stop/start anything?
2) If I use the "Add Matcher" button do I just need to signal Sage to go look for media again?

Are there any other steps I am missing to make this matcher work?

Sage TV, USB UIRT & Repeating commands

I have had SAGE TV & my USB UIRT working fine for quite a while now until I tried updating to a newer driver for my HVR-2250 card. After the driver update I could not get the blaster to control my cable box anymore. I used the windows restore point to roll back to before the driver update and that fixed the blaster problem. What is not working is the repeat key press within Sage TV.
For example on the program guide pressing right moves the guide one block to the right but holding down the key does not produce any additional movement. The same is true for all keys such as FF, REW etc.. This was working before the update but I have not found a way to fix it since the restore.
Other than this minor annoyance it changes channels fine with the external cable box and responds to all commands as a single key press. Any thoughts?

Multiple Servers on the same LAN

My wayward daughter has returned to the fold and along with acquired dogs and cats she has also brought along her Sage server. I connected it on the network and have had no problems with my SageTV boxes however the old Hauppauge extenders and Placeshifter are acting a bit odd.

Regardless of the server selected during startup of the extenders or Placeshifter, it goes to the same server every time. The only way to make it select the correct server is to shut the server down that I don't want and it will connect to the other one until things get reset. The biggest problem I'm having is that my daughters server is somehow the default. :bang:

My question is why is this happening and is there a way to setup the servers to have my server be the default. I've tried renaming them in the correct alphabetical order and making sure my ip was before hers but I'm at a standstill.

Any direction would be appreciated. The particulars are:

SageTV V7.1.9
XP SP3

Plugin Request: Philips Hue (or LIFX)

I'm hoping to spur someone's motivation to develop this plugin since the pinnacle of my programming skills was setting the VCR clock.

I would really enjoy a Sage plugin that would take advantage of the Philips Hue to control lighting while using Sage. If anyone is unfamiliar with the Hue, it's a wifi controlled LED lightbulb that screws into a standard light bulb socket. The bulb's color and intensity can then be controlled/adjusted, and the system allows a total of 50 bulbs to be controlled independently.

Ideally the plugin would automatically adjust the lighting with user controlled setpoint depending upon the activity in sage. Playing a movie would be one activity, another for browsing a menu, another for pause, listening to music etc... I think everyone can imagine how nice this would be for a home theater system. It would also be nice to have selectable 'themes' that would override the automatic settings for times you don't want automatic control. For example a dinner theme, sports theme, blue, daytime, rain, spooky etc...

Anyway, I hope this idea excites someone to take on this project. I don't own a Hue (it's expensive but on par with Hometheater costs), but I would purchase the system if this plugin became available. I do know that Philips has made available the HUE API to encourage apps and plugins to be developed. And if someone prefers, or is aware of any advantages, I would be happy with the same plugin for LIFX which is the crowd-funded competitor to Hue that launches in September.

If anyone else has ideas for this plugin please share them.

I've tried several Linux/SMB based NASes and all have poor throughput/speed. Too slow for GB video files.
Perhaps there's a fast one, but not in my price range.
Is there big difference using NTFS and windows?

MoCa vs Powerline?

We're getting ready to relocate across the country to the Bay Area. We'll be leaving behind a house that I own & where I had Cat5 pulled to every room. We'll be moving into a rental house for a while, until we get our bearings in the area. I'll need a reliable way to get ethernet from my server to my HD300. Since its a rental, I can't pull cat5 (or at least I don't want to go through the effort for a year at most).

As far as I can tell, the wireless spectrum in the new area is very crowded (houses right up close to each other, plus a city-wide wifi network), and I tend to have bad wireless karma anyway, so I'm going to rule that out. That leaves MoCa and powerline. The house is fairly new (a 65 year old house that underwent a total gutting & rebuild 5 years ago), so my understanding is that the wiring is in good shape. We don't use satellite.

I've read some reviews of both, and from what I can tell, some people claim that the powerline adapters cut out randomly. Others claim the Moca adapters interfere with their "internet signal" (gotta love Amazon reviews). Anybody here have any opinions on which is better, and what hardware I should use?
