SageTVClient Not Playing HD-PVR Files (Playback Exception)

I am unable to get my SageTVClient on my laptop to play any of my HD-PVR recorded files. Everything else seems to work fine. I get the below error whether I play a previously recorded show or LiveTV:

Code:
There was a Playback Error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x80040217): There
was a problem rendering the video portion of the content
for playback.
I have played around with the Detailed Settings with no change. I have tried all four of the Video Renderer settings (Default, Overlay, VMR9, and EVR). I have tried all three of the MPEG2 Video Decoder settings (Default, Microsoft MPEG-2, and SageTV MPEG). I have not played with the H.264 Video Decoder since I only have Default in the list (which is selected). Do I need a separate H.264 Video Decoder? Does SageTVClient not play these files natively?

I searched around in the forums, but did not see anything that addressed this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes-you need a separate H.264 Video decoder. If you're on Windows 7 choose the Microsoft DTV-DVD decoder. Or install Arcsoft, CoreAVC or Divx and choose one of those.

Gerry,

Thanks for the info. My laptop is using Vista, but was thinking about upgrading to Win7. Good to hear Win7 has a built in decoder. But if I do not upgrade soon, I will give one of the others a try. Thanks so much.
