Slow UI

After mucking about on my client machine forever, trying to get smooth video I installed a video card ATI 4800 HD(was using the 3500HD on the MB). Although the 3500 was supposed to be able to do H264 it really couldn't keep up.

The 4800 does H264 perfectly but then all of a sudden the UI is acting up. Instead of menu items sliding out, they take a half second then appear fully extended. If not watching video they are smooth. Same goes for the program guide. OSD stuff flickers and moving the mouse around makes them flicker as well.

I thought perhaps the 4800 driver was the problem but when I went to the server and starting navigating it was displaying the same behavior. I can't remember changing anything on the server (doesn't mean I didn't but it would only have been selecting decoders).

Any ideas what could cause the menus/OSD to behave this way?

I have a 4800 HD in my client and when I first installed Sage I had to increase the java heap to get through the UI. Depends on the plugins your running. Decoders don't really effect the UI.

I changed both the client and server to 400 and it made no difference. The only plug-in I have is google weather and I unistalled that and rebooted the computer, no difference.

I'll have to hunt down my registration numbers and re-install the server. Probably something got corrupted and is causing the problems.
