Need help getting Sage to work again....

OK….so SageTV was working fine on my Windows XP SP3 computer, and then I did a factory reset.

I am aware that there is an issue with the Java install, so I uninstalled all Java and SageTV.

My question is do I install Sage first or Java first. There error that I have been getting is that there was a file missing, and that Java Runtime envirment 1.4 could not be found.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Chaz

Sagetv Installs Java if it is not installed. That error you got is seen a lot when using Version 7 of Java.... or no Java is installed.

If it is not a version 7 Java problem then Re-install Java and make sure Sage is shutdown.

If you are using Version 7 of Java you need to install the latest windows vbrun times.

thank you.....

I was actually using version 6.x. Do you think running version 7 might solve this? Right now neither Sage nor Java is installed?

Also....I know there is a SageTV.exe and a SageTV Client, what is the difference?

Thanks

Chaz

Uninstall Sage... Uninstall Java. Make sure all Java versions are uninstalled. Reinstall Sage. Sage should then Install Java.
