Adding a second HDHR

I recently added a new HDHR and am having troubles. I am currently running SageTV 6 on WHS with an HDHR (both tuners are recognized). The HDHRs are running the latest firmware.

Specifically, it is not being recognized in SageTV. When I go to "setup video sources" I do not see the new HDHR as an option to setup.

I have looked at the sage.properties file and it is not listed as "ignore"
I have run the HDHR setup and listed SageTV as the application to be used.

The HDHR setup recognizes both devices (4 tuners). And they all work.

I had purchased the second tuner to experiment with MythTV and it worked fine there, but for the time being (Olympics) I wanted to add a third tuner. And so I am trying to move it from the Myth system to Sage. The Myth system of course is off for now.

I would also point out that the MythTV system saw both of the HDHRs.

Any help/Ideas?

Hi, did you ever find a solution to this problem with adding a 2nd dual HDHomeRun and SageTV not recognizing it? I just got a 2nd dual HDHomeRun and I'm having the exact same problem you are describing. I have done so much troubleshooting that I am at the point where if I really want it to work I may have to format, reinstall Windows, SageTV, etc.

Problem Solved

I am posting this reply a little late. I resolved my problem on my own long ago after many different angles. So I at this time I am not sure exactly how I resolved the situation. But I do remember one thing I did that in retrospect was one of those "How could I have been so stupid to have overlooked that" moments.

Specifically, I use WHS. In the process of fixing the problem I tried upgrading to Sage 7. I then later upgraded my WHS to the 2011 version.

Resolution. I run WHS and client software on computers along with SageTV boxes 100, and 200s. WHS generally runs as a headless system. So when I ran the HDHR setup program it was on my client computer. But, this does not correctly setup the HDHR on the WHS. Once I accessed the WHS through Remote Client and ran the HDHR setup Sage could recognize the tuner. The HDHR setup places some files on the system it is being run on.

So I hope this helps anybody who has the same problems.

second HDHR

Thanks for posting your resolution. But unfortunately I am running on Windows 7 Ultimate x64, with SageTV v7 as a service and HDHR setup is currently also running on the same box. I've tried doing the setup of HDHR with SageTV service running and doing it with the service stopped. I am at a my wits end on this and am considering formatting and doing a complete reinstall of Windows and refresh of my configuration. Thanks again for your response.

Are all of the tuners showing up properly in the Silicon Dust software?
Do you have UAC enabled or disabled in Windows 7?
Is Sage installed in the default location (C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV)?
If you look in the Sage install directory, do you see a *.frq and *.scn file for each HDHR tuner?

My original HDHR tuners have *.frq files but not the new HDHR tuners and because I am using OTA HDHR does not generate *.scn files so not having the *.scn files is not an issue I have never had those files even with the HDHR tuner that does work
Thanks.
