EPG lag?

A general question for everyone... do you get a 1/2 to 2/3 second delay when using the menus (system menus or EPG)?

I have an EPIA M10000 w/ a PVR-250, 256MB RAM, Win2K SP4.

When watching live TV, the cpu load wanders between 30 and 45%. That's completely acceptable.

When I am browsing the EPG, and scrolling quickly, it will climb to around 95%, but never maxes out.

The problem is that when I hit an arrow button on the Hauppauge remote, there is a nasty time lag before the system responds and moves the cursor to another channel. It makes browsing the EPG a bit painful.

Same deal in the main system menus. Hit a key, a delay, then the menu responds.

(In fact, a third place where there is a delay is when changing channels. Select my channel, and Sage seems to pause about 1 second before actually sending the IR codes to the Actisys. I know this since my reciever has a blinken-light to indicate it has recieved an IR code properly)

Just wondering if this is common, or if something is wonky with my setup.

I've tried the various settings for VRM, etc, but with no effect.

thanks...
