Wiz.bin maintenance

Is there any way to 'maintain' the wiz.bin file, or is it encoded/encrypted without utilities? My wiz.bin file is over 10MB and growing without bound. An example of the maintenance I'd like is the ability to purge shows that I've seen to completion. Magnum PI, for example, is something that was a favorite, but now that I've recorded/seen/verified completion, I'd like it out of the wiz.bin file to minimize size. I undid the 'seen' bit on the episodes and that took down the size some, but the data seems to persist in the wiz.bin file.

If there is no ability to do this, is there any way to access this data? I remember I was interested in this a few years ago (and even reverse engineered the file), and SageTV encrypted it. Still true? Still any reason for this to be true? Any chance SageTV could provide a utility to do this?

I've searched but wasn't really able to find what I wanted to know. Sorry if this is already out there.

Also, as a quick question to those who might know, is SageTV v6 wiz.bin the same format as v5? I'm still considering upgrading, but want to know the ramifications.

Thanks in advance for all information.
