WinZip

I have to admit I'm embarrassed to ask this but here it goes. How do I create a zip archive that preserves the relative file paths? I'm using WinZip, right click (from IE) "add to archive" and I make sure the option is selected to "preserve relative path, but it doesn't. All of the items un zipto the same folder.

The devil is in the details....

How does it know what directory is the "root" if I have several files all in different directories? And how do I highlight files in different folders? If I highlight one file, then switch to another folder, doesn't the "highlighting" go away on the first file?

put them all in their own folder...

my zip folder\
\dir1\bunches of files
\dir2\bunches of files

highlight dir1 and dir2 then right click -> send to-> zip folder.... its a pain that you have to manually create the dir structure but you only have to do that once...

Not sure what version of WinZip you're using, but recent versions let you drag and drop folders into the WinZip window and will preserve subdirectory structure when you do so.
