Problem recording to separate hard drive
See my sig for my updated system specs.
I've recently decided to give SageTV another go (went to WMC with CableCARD) after seeing the new HD300 and SageTV v7 release. Very exciting stuff! I installed the latest 7.0.16 beta and got it all working when using the default recording directory (C: system drive). The video playback of LiveTV and recordings was nice and smooth. Once I changed the recording folder to a location on a different drive (new 2TB drive formatted in 64k) the video playback of LiveTV and recordings was choppy (audio was fine), and the interface would hang (spinning circle of death). At that point I would have to kill the Sage process, but when re-starting Sage I got a null pointer exception, so I'd have to uninstall and start fresh again. To troubleshoot I tried 3 different hard drives, all with the same stuttering and interface hang. I also tried a PCIe SATA controller since I though maybe the mobo controller was no good, but same symptoms. If I go back to using a recording folder on the system drive (same drive where SageTV is and my OS is installed) all is alright again. Any ideas from the community? Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I'll give the updated jar file a try for the null pointer issue.
Anyone have ideas about why using a separate recording drive would cause problems? Thanks!

OK, got it working. Changed the decoders. The default ones after initial install were working fine when recording to the system drive, but not when using a different drive. Weird.
Anyway, all is well for now. Really love the ability to stream ripped Blurays and Bluray disks to an extender. Also, Sage MyMovies rocks! Now, can't wait for the 2nd HD-PVR to arrive, so I can complete the setup.
