New HD-PVR, washed out colors
All,
I just bought a new HDPVR when my old one died. I think it was working fine until I installed 1.7.1.30059 drivers. Now, the video it records are very washed out on most channels. (best example I can give, is an outdoor scene that was suppose to be desert was basically all yellow in the back ground) BTW, this might be my cable box. Any suggestions?

Are you sure that all three RCA connectors of your component cables are attached properly from the cable box to the HD-PVR? It sounds like there could be a bad connection in one of them. Try watching live TV and unpluggin one at a time. If nothing changes when you unplug one of the then there is a bad connection - hopefully a badly seated cable and not a bad connection in the HD-PVR or cable box.

The latest drivers require manual setting of the contrast, brightness, etc.
There's info and some good settings here: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49290 I'd give more info myself but I should probably be on my way to work... Last edited by Dargason; 05-03-2012 at 06:46 AM. |

I do it through sage.properties (shut down the service first). They appear in two places for each encoder's properties. Here is one HDPVR and the numbers I'm happy with:

Thnk you pollypro! just upgraded my sage TV server to Windows 8 64 bit and the 1.7.1.30059 drivers were way off. Your settings look real good. Appreciate it.

Yes, also wanted to express my thanks for posting these settings. Also upgraded to the latest HDPVR drivers as my two boxes had become unstable. The new code seems to have improved stability, but the color settings were way off -- these ones above have things as good as new.
