web serve streaming

how do you get the videos to stream to another pc, I have installed VLC Media Player and for firefox but it says "You do not have any installed players that can play back mpg files" do I need to turn on mpg file support in VLC ? same situation with my ipod touch, how can I stream my videos to that ?

Thanks

If you have installed the webserver and the mobile webserver plugins, and have them working, streaming will work through the mobile webserver plugin on your iPod Touch (of recordings only, not DVDs, imported videos, etc.).

I assume when you talk of streaming on "another PC", you are talking remotely through the webserver (hence the title of your post), and not on your network at home? I once tried the old webserver on a friend's PC and managed to get a DVD playing with one of the "1/3 quality" options or something like that, but I don't know what video programs and codecs he had installed (and whatever answer someone proposes, you would have to ensure that was installed on whatever PC you used.) Otherwise, I've honestly never tried it recently so hopefully someone else can help you.
