Fresh install of SageTV on new drive - what does Placeshifter have to say?

since doing a rebuild on a new boot drive, Placeshifter has gone back to the 15 day trial mode.
any idea why? Do I need to re-enter the Placeshifter key on my laptop again if I DON'T pull wiz.bin over from the old boot drive?

Placeshifter/MVP/HD100 licenses are entered on the server, not the client - this is why it is in trial mode (you likely have no licenses installed on your new server). Close down the server, and run the Registration program from the Start Menu to add your placeshifter license.

ah, ok, thanks. I have my Placeshifter license on-hand...but don't member anything about a 'registration' program...do you mean the Placeshifter install routine?

No, on the server, Start -> Programs -> SageTV -> Register SageTV Media Extender or Placeshifter License.

Did you reboot the SageTV server instance after installing the key? That should fix it.

trying that now - however, that's another can of wiz.bin worms - aka the old wiz.bin is really screwing up the new install

OK, Placeshifter good to go after re-boot of server. However, 90 seconds boot time is too long - over to the wiz.bin thread...

Why? For me, I'm never awake when sage starts-up. I have the system shutdown and backup every morning at 3am. By the time anything good comes on, it has been up for a couple hours and is more than ready to record. Likewise, it is ready to play back LONG before I am awake. Mine isn't near 20 minutes, but I'd guess it's somewhere in the minute and a half to 2 minute range from the last time I manually started it up...
