Not sure I did.
This thread title says: customizations for SageTV version 6 and earlier, or for the SageTV3 UI. I am running ver 7.0 and I thought I had the web server working with 7.0!! Am I wrong in thinking it works with 7.0? I do not find the folder listed above. I do have a folder under sage called webserver, but no file called realms.properties in that folder.
That is what I thought my password was. Sage and frey.
I honestly have not done a thing with sage other than use it for over a year or year and a half and I am rusty at where things are and what works.
Thanks
Wayne

I think you want to install the jetty web server in the plugins section in sage setup menu.

Trying to learn how to use Webserver for XML export / import so I can move hard drive info around. I have exported my recordings list to XML from my old drive, and imported it to my new re-build. One problem: The channel info has gone missing

Here are two pics - the first lists the channel ID: 274 SpeedHD. The second is from the XML imported info, and although that info is included in the XML file, it somehow now shows another airing TIME instead of CHANNEL. Anyone have the answer for this?

My only idea is that the channel maps may be different somehow between my old HDD build and my new SSD build....would that confuse the imported XML file to now properly display the Channel ID info?

Indeed, many of those ID are basically an index in the database, so they won't match between rebuild... You might be able to use the station number or some other info from the TV guide provider, to figure out the new channelID...

or just take notes and make sure I've selected all the same channels on both systems?

That probably wouldn't help... Since they use a custom database, I get the feeling that it's some kind of global ID, for everything, files, images, tuners, channels, etc...

Season & Episode missing on XML import

Trying to learn the XML export/import method of webserver, and so far everything is going well except for one thing: I seem to lose any "Season / Episode" info that was on-screen when I exported.
The imported XML doesn't show that info.
Any idea what may be the problem?

Here are two photos to show the before and after XML results:

The Webserver plugin XML never contained the Season Episode data. That is contained either in the metadata, wiz.bin or properties files from BMT. Are you still using the SageTV guide or did you change to a plugin? The only way to get these back is to have BMT create properties files.

I am using the Sage EPG data for the time being. So I need to re-enable the BMT .properties file creation that I dis-abled, and then export those .properties files into the recording dir after importing the xml data?

In BMT you would have to do a scan on missing metadata. That is one of the options under browse in the BMT web Interface. You can check the option to replace the metadata with the BMT metadata if you wish. This would be better served to be continued in the BMT thread.

The SageTV Webserver plugin and the BMT Webserver plugin are 2 different things. If you are talking about the Season Episode not being in the XML. Then you need to request it. I doubt if any updates will be done... but you can try and ask.

ah, ok. But BMT can include that original data by rewriting it? Is it THEN included in the XML data, or in an associated .properties file? And then we can move to the BMT forum

The SageTV webserver XML as it is right now does not contain any Season Episode Data and as designed will never include it (will need to be updated). For the recordings you lost this on you would need to use BMT.

great - got the metadata back by I assume creating those properties files...correct? If I delete those, then I lose "season-episode"? Once I get this figured out I should be good to go

Media File Download

Hi Sage Community,

I am running this web interface with linux and Sage7 and I am listing the latest videos I recorded through rss. I can see all of the information, but when I click on the file to download, it just downloads the first few megabytes than stops. It seems like maybe jetty is crashing?

I was reading in the Studio User's guide that nielm's webserver had good examples of how to call Sage API from java. I downloaded the files from sourceforge, but I can't find the source code. (I found a bunch of class files, but no .java files)

I'm not really familiar with sourceforge, so I probably missed it... can someone point me in the right direction?
