Recording Subdirectories

I've been reading for an hour and haven't figured this out yet.
Is there any way to have new TV recordings sent to a specific subdirectory?

i.e. I started recording "Judge Judy" for my wife and I'm getting around 4 shows a day. Before you know it there's quite a pile of them in my single recording directory.
It would be great if they were grouped in a subdirectory.

Thanx!

Have you tried malore's custom 2-pane recording view / menu? This puts all the episodes of each series into separate folders. Works extremely well.

Enable it and other unsupported extras this way:

HOW TO ENABLE THE EXTRAS
Enabling or disabling the extras is real simple... go to System Information and enter four digits in a row:

5309

You will notice that a small dot appears in the upper left corner. That dot indicates that the extras have been enabled. To disable the extras, enter 5309 again. (System Information is accessible from Setup -> System Information, or just use the Info command while on the Main Menu.)

THE UNOFFICIAL FEATURE SET
The extra features are configured at Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Customize, then scroll down until you see the section titled Unsupported Extras. You can set:

SageTV Recordings Style - select from the default menu or malore's custom 2-pane menu.

Thanx for your response.

I'm already using Malore menus.

I actually am using 3 different views of the recordings, but as far as I understand it, it just filters what you see, it doesn't actually put the files in different physical folders.

Am I missing something?

Sage does not record Shows to different folders ..... it can only do this on a tuner basis which does not full-fill your need. There is no way to tell a favorite to record to a particular sub folder.

Thanx for your response.
I was afraid that was going to be the final answer.
Just wish there was a (simple) way to keep my recording drive organized.
I poke around in there from time to time, looking for any problems.

The key is just not going into the recording drive. Assuming you only watch through a Sage interface, there's really not any need to ever open those directories.

But, if you really need them sorted into directories for whatever reason, you could script something with sage-job-queue to get them organized. I know there are scripts out there for moving recordings off the recording drive and onto a NAS. Should be something most written already.
