.frq file question(s)

Hi Folks,
Below is a snip from one of my .frq files. While much of it is self explanatory, I do have a couple questions I was hoping to get answered if anybody knows.

What does the CH: mean? Since it isn't showing the actual channel# (phy or log), I'm assuming it has nothing to do with the actual channel listed later in that line. Is it just stating (in this case) first channel found?

Second, what does the prog:3 refer to?

Lastly, is there any harm done by manually adding a couple channels to a .frq file that are copy/pasted from another (assuming the CH: is modified to reflect the correct line number?...Assuming CH is a line#)?

CH:1 major:8 minor:1 prog:3 phy:7 frq:175250000 #:WFLA-HD

Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure CH is just some internal identifier for their database.

I manually added some channels to my QAM frq file when SageTV could not scan properly. I just copied the "minor" field to the "prog" field. The resulting .freq seems to work:

Code:
CH:37 major:0 minor:1 prog:1 phy:31 frq:267000000 mod:11 inv:0 #WCVW
This was on linux, but I think the stuff that parses these files is cross-platform.

I also wanted to manually edit a frq file.

Thank You for the info!
