XMLTV progid -vs- sage internal

HI,

I'm preparing to switch over to XMLTV for my EPG feed...
comparing the two feeds...etc..

and I noticed that it looks like the series-id was expanded from 6-8 positions..
so the EP8084030006 is now EP008084030006

I was wondering...is their any way to convert the internal sagetv list of what was recorded to the newer format? otherwise its not going to notice that episodes have been previously recorded...etc.

OR...would I be safe in saying...that in the epgdata.xml...
if it starts with EP00SSSSSSNNNN that I can change that to
EPSSSSSSNNNN and only use the new format when the value is not 00??

I'm using the XMLTV V 0.5.63
(running SageTV V4)

thankx all.

I've had similar concerns with my plugin (for Sage v7 only). You should be safe to strip all leading zeros in show IDs because, as far as I can tell, Sage simply interprets the numbers in a show ID as an integer before inserting it into the EPG, which means leading zeros are stripped. However, I could never confirm that fact and so I never actually implemented that conversion in my plugin and instead use differing show IDs. With that said, I'm sure you'd be safe doing it, I just wasn't confident enough to actually implement it in my code.
