DirecTV H25 Work with Sage

Anyone know if DirecTVs H25 receivers work with SageTV?
I use Serial(USB) tuning, it does seem to have a USB (which I'd bet is truly a serial port) port. I have an H20 that seems to have gone bad some how. . .I'm pretty sure its not the HD-PVR or anything else. . . so I was looking to get a new box. I may just order an older H21, but I thought I'd ask and see what others are using.

Modern DirecTV STBs have ethernet ports on them and you can use that to tune the channels. I've been doing this (although not on the H-25) for about 1 year now without a problem.

I guess my point is that I, too was using the serial post channel changing. The switch is easy, simple, and straight forward. I also find the HTTP interface changes the channel slightly faster.

Either way, good luck!

Is there a "how to" thread describing how to implement the DirecTV Ethernet tuning?

This was the easiest to setup for me but also read the whole thread for background and the original method.

The only ways to change channels with that box is ir and http. I have one and have been using http since day one with zero issues.
