Client or High Quality Placeshifting
Hi Sage Community,
I have my linux server located at work and I would like to connect to the server from home. The hosting location has a 20MB upload speed, so it should be plenty and I have Uverse at home. When I placeshift, the server squeezes my videos down necessarily. It takes up a lot of server power and diminishes the quality a lot. Is there any way to demand that the server not transcode the video while placeshifting or run a Client over the internet without a VPN? I tried just running the client, but it wouldn't take. Thank you for any help, Doug |

Hi Doug,
Edit your Sage.properties file and modify this line: Code:
miniplayer/min_bandwidth_for_no_transcode=2000000 B PS - This needs to be done when the SageTV service is not running. Code:
/opt/sagetv/server/stopsage OR service stop sagetv
