HD PVR AC Adaptor Replacement - FYI

FYI:

My HD PVR power adapter just died and I called Hauppauge tech support. They're shipping a replacement free of charge. No questions asked. No HD PVR serial number needed. nada.

I did tell him I'm using a 5VDC 2.5amp supply temporarily and he said that I shouldn't use a 2.5 Amp supply. I call BS on that one. A 2.5 amp supply is capable of supplying up to 2.5 amps but it will only supply what is required by the device.
