Unhappy Disapointed so far.

I have a 3.2 ghz machine, 512mb ram, 128 mb Geforce VidCard, and all it is doing is being my Sage tv, I have a Haupt pvr150 in it and I have got all the latest drivers for it.

the thing works fine for a couple of days and then every thing it records stutters... it even stutters live tv.... a restart doesn't help either from what I can tell.... and putting the cable right into the tv gives me clear viewing....

Any Ideas?

Woshad

What is the cluster size on the drive partition where SageTV stores its recordings? 64K is the recommended size.

What version of DirectX are you running?

Check this thread: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ead.php?t=9608

YMMV but it helped me. Also check for overheating of CPU/GPU/mobo

Andy, you forgot your favorite question... 'Do you have any anti-virus software scanning the SageTV directories?'

try to play the recordings with windows media player and see if it stutters there. If it does, then try the other suggestions posted, like 64k formats, update DirectX, and configure anti-virus not to scan recording directories.

If you're doing alot of recordings in those "couple of days", maybe a simple defrag will help.

Are you certain that the recording is stuttering and not the playback? Have you tried to play a stuttering file on a different machine?

Check your CPU usage during recording only, then during playback only.
