Can't see menu cursor on DVDs
Any DVD I put in shows no cursor/pointer/highlight in the DVD menus. I have tried with and without STV plugins/skins and with several DVDs with both mouse control and remote and never get anything showing. I can navigate the menus but since I can't see what is selected it's just guess work. I had this problem with version 2.1 and now with 2.2 any ideas?

What video decoder are you using? Try a different decoder for your DVDs and try overlay or vmr9. (Whichever one you aren't using)

I see that too ... and as far as I can remember it doesn't matter which decoder ... it seems to be a problem with VMR9 .... overlay it works fine.

That's not true. I'm using nVidia and also used DScaler5 decoders with VMR9 and do not have that issue. You also have to take in account what video card you're using and version of drivers.

I use VMR 9 and it happens on some DVD's and not others. The first one I noticed it on was Meet the Fockers last week. Everything else I have watched was fine. |

I have had similar problem with Epia M6000. It was more subtle than just decoder or video card settings.
For example, PowerDVD works fine, but using the PowerDVD decoders within Sage gives the problem you describe. Using the Hauppauge decoders within Sage does work. Because of this, it is worth trying various decoders within Sage, but if none work, then set it to call an external DVD player that does work. Quote:

I'm having the same problem with the PowerDVD codec when I turn on VMR9. If I set it to overlay everything works. This occurs on two of my HTPC's with the latest ATI driver's and Power DVD 6.
I havent had the time to try an older ATI driver yet though. |
