SageTV hangs whenever i try to watch TV
I'm new here so i'm not ssure this is the right place.
I have recently installed sagetv and set it up to recieve the uk guide from radiotimes. I am using a hauppage WinTV Go, but whenever i try to watch a channel in SageTv the application just hangs. TV works perfectly fine with the hauppage software. Any ideas?

The WinTV Go is a software encoder, which is not supported in version 2.2.8. Version 3 has added support for software encoders, but it is currently in beta testing.

Hardware encoders work much better -- better recorded picture quality and less cpu usage while recording, since the card does the encodig instead of the cpu. I don't believe the v3 beta has a trial period, but it is being discussed in the SageTV Beta Test Software section of this forum.
