MP3 Automatic Tagging Software

I am using SageTV 7 music import (so much nicer than in V6), and I have a lot of MP3 recordings with missing album tags and other tags not fully populated.

What is the best Automatic MP3 tagger available? Free would be nice, but don't mind spending on a good one.

What I am looking for, is a program that samples the songs ( Like Shazam ) and then automatically looks up the songs tags ( album picture, song title, artist, year, etc ) and then updates the MP3 tags.

One such program I am going to evaluate is called [url="http://www.magic-tagger.com"]Magic MP3 Tagger.[/URL

Anyone use it or have better recommendations?

I'm personally not a huge fan of auto-taggers and don't have a suggestion there unfortunately. I use the awesome, free MP3Tag program which is powerful and does pull in tags, but it's not really automatic. The program is still being updated and just released a new update a week or so ago.

Yes, that's a great MP3 tagging tool - I got it and it's wonderful.

It's great but after several hundred maual tagging, it quickly get's old.

On my Android phone, Shazam is amanzily good at indentifying a song by sampling it, so I if I can find a similar type of program that will auto-tag MP3 tags based on 100% or close to 100%, I don't have any fear of doing mass taggings - especially things like album pictures.

Having MP3 album tags is almost a must with SageTV 7 - makes for browsing so much nicer.

The best tagging software I've ever used is jaikoz. Funny name, but it gets all original data using year or whatever. It also lets you process large amounts of files and change them via spreadsheet style.

I also use MP3Tag For anything that doesn't work in jaikoz. Sometimes the jaikoz software will import foreign characters, but if you load all the songs into mp3tag it corrects them. Fastest way I've found to get it done without editing each song individually.

You might want to look into the free J. River Media Jukebox. It has good tagging capabilities and is a powerful organizer, playlist creator, and player.

Side question: When a music is playing from SageTV 7 Music tab, is there an option to have it display the song's lyrics if the recording has the lyrics in it's lyrics tag?
