Nexus workaround
First of all what's with the igloo for the Canadian survey? I've never seen an igloo in my life and I live in Canada.
Secondly, Is this configuration possible? I want to run my Nexus-s dvb card in the taskbar with mytheatre or progdvb running in hardware mode. I would plug the svideo output from the Nexus to the svideo in of the pvr250. I would then set up Sagetv to change channels in mytheatre via girder. Can sageTV be set up to record with mytheatre instead of the pvr250 so I don't get the double compression? So basically the Nexus runs in the background taking no CPU and acts just like an external sat box. This is just a workaround of course until the Nexus is supported by Sagetv. Is anybody running this setup? Thanks |

I don't know anything about mytheater, so I can't comment much on whether it will specifically work.
But what you're talking about in general sounds like it would work, although it would be doing double compression.

It would be doubleing the compression. What is the lowest amount of compression that the pvr-250 can do? Drive space isn't much of an issue. It's not going to look any different than a sat or cable box being captured.

Might as well put a mountie on horseback holding a beaver while drinking beer and watching hockey on there as well

I kknow this is an old thread, but I'm fascinated to know your experence with this.
I'm seriously considering this type of setup with SageTV, but don't know if it will work to loop the signal from the Nexus-s to the PVR-250. It seems like it would work just fine, but ??? |
