Multiple Tuner Setup..Please Help
Help, Please with multiple tuner setup
I have windows xp pro and have Hauppauge 150 installed and all was fine.I bought the Hauppauge 500 MCE card with 2 tuners. When I added it to my system, windows found new hardware, like I expected it to, but of course it was waiting for me to run the set up disk. But the set up disk clearly stated that it was for MCE. Thus, I didn't know what to do. I went to the Hauppauge website and found a driver setup for the 500, but it looked to be for the 150, also. I ran the driver setup. Then Sage recognized all three tuners and I set them up in sage. All seemed to go well...Then I went to live TV in Sage and got a white sreen. So, now my 150 is white screened and so are the other tuners. Any suggestions on how to make the 150 and 500 work in XP pro? Thanks, Gary Ellis |

I would uninstall the drivers then try installing the MCE ones.
Are you sure you installed them the correct way? ie. 1. When asked by Windows, one card at a time, point it to the dir with the .inf for each card. 2. Then run the .exe over the top. Also, it is a good idea to have separate install dirs in Program files for each card. So in 1. above supply a different dir for the 150 and another one for the 500.

Since the 500 is just two 150's, all your cards use the same driver. Download MCE_CD_V31B.ZIP from Hauppauge. Extract to a folder (C:\MCE_CD_V31B.ZIP). Go into Device Manager (are all 3 cards listed?) and update the drivers for each tuner. Point the installer to C:\MCE_CD_V31B.ZIP\WinTV-PVR-150500MCE_2.2.0.35.23348.3264 (WHQL)\... I've never had a problem upgrading over the top. I don't use any Hauppauge software or remote stuff, so this is just for a driver upgrade. Depending on how it goes, you may have to remove and re-add the cards in Sage, or check mmc/ignore_encoders in the properties files.

It should automatic try to install the drivers but may guest is it looking for drivers dll's and system files which you have tell where it is which will be in windows/system32 and windows/system32/driver folder with out getting the pvr 150 disk out or what ever drivers you use which you need to point to folder "DriverA2" where the dll's and system files are if you had all ready unzip the lates drivers.
