Linux 4.15 SIS Sata Problems

Hi all,

I am tyring to install Sage TV Linux Version 4.15 and am running into problems almost off the hop. I have two 120GB Sata Drives in my system. When I boot from the Sage TV CD it starts scanning for devices and hangs at this line.

:: Scanning for sata_SIS...

The system never boot form theere. It would seem obvious that the problem lies with the fact I am using a SIS chipset and for some reason Sage is unable to load the driver or detect the drives. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks.

Could you try the latest beta? This has possibly been fixed by the more recent gentoo boot cd.

Will my key still work?

I will give it a shot but will my license key work with the beta? Or does the beta not require a key?

Still no luck

I tried the above mentioned version of live cd. Still no luck. I am going to try and install debian and then use the instructions for the beta to see if that works. If not. Any other ideas?

Is your cd drive connected on sata? If so you might need to check the bios options.

Its looking for the cdrom on /dev/hda (IDE primary master), you check your bios and physical connections and make sure its not /dev/hdc (IDE secondary master).
