Picture break up after Axa Insurance advert on ITV
Not sure if any one else has seen/solved this issue, but when ever the Axa insurance sponsorship advert comes on I lose the video output from the program, it just seem to show coloured bars instead of a picture. This is happening on both the server and client, to get around this I can skip past the advert, stop the program and then restart it, but this is annoying. Has anyone else seen / solved this??
Ron.

I think this is related to when the aspect ratio changes i.e. going from adverts in 16:9 to a program in 4:3 (immediately after the sponsorship ad). If I recall correctly, the default sage mpeg2 decoders detect the aspect change correctly but corrupt the picture during the switch. I'm using cyberlink's decoders which don't autmatically switch aspect but the picture doesn't corrupt either. Swings and roundabouts unfortunately.
There probably is a way to have autoswitching and retain a picture (maybe winDVD) but I have more pressing issues with my setup at the moment, unfortunately. |

You nailed it. Now works fine. Thanks

This is a known bug, was introduced between 5.0.4 and 5.1.1. Is logged with Sage. In 5.0.4, Sage Decoder, Nvidia and Cyberlink worked for me, switching aspect ratios automatically. In 5.1.1 all were broken, best I can do is not switching at all. Unfortunately I only tracked this down just before the release of 6, so they never got a fix into the final release. Hopefully 6.1...

I have been reporting this all through 6.x beta testing, but it seems the dev team do not quite understand that there is a problem that was not there in v. 5. I guess my communication ability is poor.

It took some time backtracking to prove it, but Sage accepted that it was an issue between 5.0.4 and 5.1.1. I think they had very few reports on it. Last they said was "OK, this is logged. It won't be fixed for V6.0 release but we'll take care of it shortly afterwards.
"Soon I hope!
