Automatic brightness adjustment problems.

Does anyone else have a problem with random brightness adjustments being done by the PVR-250?

That is, while watching a show, if a scene is too dark, the encoder (or driver, or who knows what else) automagically brightens the source.

I'm positive it's the encoder, since all decoders I've tried exihibit the same behaviour.

Here's the problem: sometimes it works very poorly, most specifically while watching hockey. I can be enjoying a game when all of a sudden, the picture brightens and the ice is so bright, you can't see anything.

First, I wonder if this is because I have two tuners recording at the same time? Could it be that both pieces of hardware are linked and that, for instance one tuner is recording a bright or normal level scene , but the other tuner is recording a dark scene, both tuners either brighten, or darken?

Second, does anyone know if it's possible to disable this auto-brightening "feature"?

Thanks.

I have a single pvr-250 and have pretty much the same issue you are having. It hasnt been unbearable for me (huge hockey fan, but I dont usually record it) but its kind of strange sometimes.. To rule out one of your thoughts though, it is an issue with a single 250.

If this is the system you described the other day with driver Version 1.17.110.21062, then you may want to consider updating to more current drivers. That version appears to be quite old.
