All Else Failed

Hi Sage TV Community,

I'm was making progress but seem to have hit a brick wall in my attempt to get Sage TV working between my Mac and PC. The server is the PC, the client is the Mac. I'm trying to use both SageTV Client and Placeshifter on the Mac to access the PC through a D-Link DIR-625 wireless router. This is a U-PNP compatible router. I have turned on the DMZ, forwarded ports, tried virtual servers, the whole ball of wax, and still can't get the settings just right.

On the server (PC), testing the Placeshifter connection says that the Locater server connected to the IP Address registered for this locater ID, but could not access the Placeshifter server's port. That is the result both after using U-PNP and manual configurations. The router's firewall is off.

I did use Placeshifter once before with this setup except it was a Linksys router. That router has since died and I have this D-Link as a replacement.

Help!

Thanks ;-)

I was having a similar problem with my placeshifter client. It would connect to my sage server over LAN but not through the placeshifter server over the internet. It turned out that my DSL modem was not bridged and was acting as its own DHCP server and firewall. Once that was changed, it worked first try and has been working fine since then.

Thanks

Well - just had a power outage, so I have to go in to the modem diagnostics anyway - I'll see what I can see... Thanks!
