My two questions !!!

I finally got SageTV to work after a lot of problem and now before i decide to purchase the software (you know they give me one more reason to buy it with their special price !!) i got two questions: 1. Currently it seem that Sage Service is only supporting US TV Guide for now and it look like it's using Zap2it. Right now i am able to get my TV Guide even if i am living in Canada via Zap2it. When will Canadian Guide for Satellite be available to use with SageTV ?

2. I currently own an Hollywood+ card, is it possible to ise it with SageTV ? If not will in some near future be possible to use the Xcard with OSD with SageTV because these kind of card produce much better picture quality on a TV set.

SO that's it and by the way a lot of thanks to the SageTV tech team for their quick answer (almost all the time Hehe) to the problem i got with SageTV. You software look very promising compare to competitor product.

See Ya !!!

Even though we get our data from Zap2it, we may not have the same coverage as their website. This is because we made a business decision to only support the top 25 markets as defined by Zap2it to start. We will then support the entire US by the end of the year. We'll look to Canada and Europe after that.

You can probably use a VGA->TV converter. Some of them are very good, but they are expensive compared to the TV cards with the built-in TV-out.

I don't own an XCard, but if it's like the H+, the VGA output from your video card goes to this card, and then your monitor goes to it.

What I was suggesting was to hook up the VGA->TV converter to the VGA output of the card, and the YPrPb to the TV (or SVideo - whichever the TV supports). This way, you can use SageTV with the XCard on the TV with the VGA->TV, and you can just view the MPEG output with the yPbPr. From what I've heard, the XCard doesn't display the OSD with SageTV yet. If I'm wrong, then I'll probably have to go out and buy that too.... Although, I will miss region free playback with software decoders....

Do you have an XCard? I wasn't sure. If you do, could you answer one thing for me? If you have a region free drive (which I do), can you play back any region without having to set it on the XCard? The reason I ask is that I bought a Region 2 movie and switch back between region 1 and 2 discs.

Never mind. I just checked the SigmaDesigns site and it said the card only does full screen with the VGA pass-through cable....

Yes that ture with VGA pass-through cable it Full screen only that why I'm using VIP for windows mode with PNY nVidia GF2 MX400 and yes you rigth the Xcard OSD with SageTV is not support yet we just have wait for SDK then hope Jeff can do something about that one problem.
Only the NetStream 2000, 2000TV & 4000 are like the H+ but with 3 to 4x more cost for a new, a use one run any where from $60 to as high as $150.

nox71, if you are looking for a PVR solution that has legit Canadian listings my company is developing one. In fact, if you would be as kind as to fill out our survey, that would be a great help (this goes for any other Canadians out there!). The survey can be found here:

http://infopoll.net/live/surveys/s22830.htm

If you do not feel comfortable entering your email on the survey but would still like to be considered as a beta tester, simply email us at info@onshore.ca and we will add you name to the list.

We have gotten the express written permision of Frey technologies to post to the forums. For further updates you can check the new Canadian international forum on this message board.

Thanks,

Craig.
