Linux Placeshifter on LAN transcoding?
I recently upgraded to 6.2.8 (on gentoo) and have been loving life, nice stable release with lots of new features. I have run into strangeness with my linux HTPC, used mainly to view HD content via DVI, using the linux Placeshifter. I have content in x264 (720p) that i used to be able to view on the HTPC without transcoding occurring on the server, no problem with most of the heavy lifting done by mplayer on the client. After upgrading, the server now wants to transcode this content and it is causing me strife
 .Is there any way to disable transcoding for a specific placeshifter client? thx for the help /jer

yep, the latest RC. works ok for XVID, but x.264 it tries to transcode even though there are local CODECs it can use.

thanks demo... strange that it did work with 5.1 on the server, but i am ok with converting to a different container format.
thx BTW any hope for placeshifter support of matroska on linux? /jer
