Require Login for placeshifter
Is there a way to force placeshifter to ask for a login? I know it auto authenticates localy and for a project I am doing I need it to always challenge for a password. Thanks!

Change this property for the server (Sage.properties) & try connecting locally again:
miniclient/authenticate_local_connections=true - Andy

seems that this setting keeps getting overwritten to false ... am I missing something?

Do you exit SageTV before changing the property? That's the only way to get a manually changed property to be used by SageTV, or else it will get overwritten the next time the properties are saved.

Man - I thought I was ... tried it again... and made sure the service wasn't running ... and yep all is good. Thanks much!

Beware that setting this property will also mean that MVP's and HD exetenders will fail to start up (because they also need to login, but cannot!)
