Can I use the trial versions of these codecs?

I'm trying to use the trial versions of Sonic's Cineplayer and
Elencard's Codec's to test my setup with SageClient. I have studdering issues with Sage and cyberlink's codecs. I can't get elencard's Codec's to show up in the list. Sonic's comes up in the list, but when I try to use it, I get an error "unable to find the specified MPEG2 video decoder filter
ErrCode 0x8004027d"

1. Will the trial versions work with Sage?

2. Why can't I get elencard's to show up?

3. If I can't use the trial versions, can anyone suggust a way for me to find out if they will get rid of my studdering issue (different thread) without actually buying them? (i'll buy if they work..)

Thanks,

Jim

The Elecard codec trial version worked for me. I downloaded the codec from
Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder v. 2.0 build 2510

I could not make the trial Sonic codec work .

I'm not sure Sonic's decoders work, I had trouble with graphedit last time I ran the Trial on my laptop (I've got a registered CP on my Sage box.)

And the registered version works fine?

I got the elecard decoders to work and it's better than cyberlink's
but there's some issues with the DVD menus with elecard's

Maybe I'll splurge and buy the Sonic.....

Yes the error was similar with Sonic.

I don't use Elecard with DVD. I don't think it can handle encrypted stuff.

Yes, I use Sonic CP decoders exclusively. They also have the codec pack if you don't want the full CP. Also I have the CP Surround Advanced Audio Decoder set up for my DVD playback.

If you play the files in CP it should give you a good idea what it will look like.

Is the decoder pack the one for $15??

if it's just $15, then I'll probably go try it!

I wish you luck (not that you need it), I'm very happy with them myself.
