HD Extender Output HDMI + Analog Audio?

Hello,

I'm considering buying an HD Extender to display on a 22 inch flat computer monitor. I've seen a number of hdmi to div converters that will work fine, but I need a solution for the audio. I have some powered speakers that I can use, but am not sure if the extender will output to HDMI and analog audio at the same time. Does anyone know if it will or will not do this?

Thanks

Yes, it will. I have my family room TV on HDMI but have analog audio running to the el cheapo "home theater in a box" DVD player below it.

It appears to send 5.1 through - if it's not really 5.1, then it's doing a darn good job of faking it.

If you are getting surround information from 2 channel analog audio the HTiB is picking up on the prologic surround info and is faking the surround. You will get better surround if you hook up optical toslink.

I'm using this hookup temporarily and it works fine (albeit autoboy's comment re: toslink is true).
