video thumbnails

lets see if I can explain this clearly.

I have a directory on my master server that is videos, within this folder I have several folders( dvd, tv shows, music videos, etc). The problem that I am having is that when I browse the videos by file structure the majority of the dvds show up at the top level while some of the dvds are in a folder titled "DVD", tv shows are in a folder titled "tv shows" etc. How can I make all the dvds appear in the "DVD" folder and stop cluttering up the top of the video screen?

Also this is with sagemc installed and we are not referring to any recorded content.
Thanks, Mike

Do you, perhaps, have a share added pointing directly to your DVDs folder? This would cause the vids in the DVD folder to display at the Root level of the Video Library. If you want the subfolder structure to be exposed, you have to just have the overall Videos folder set in Sage.

I think what you want to do is go one folder deeper and have a sub-folder for each dvd, with a thumbnail if you choose for that particular dvd.

So your top level folder would have sub-directories for TV Shows and one for DVD's. In each of these would be a sub-folder for each DVD or each TV show.

Make sure when you make any changes to the folder structure that you re-scan for changes, back out of the actual menu on screen and go back into it and it will show any changes that were made.

Sakker, your describing what I want but that's not what I am getting. It has been this way for several weeks after multiple re-indexing.

Hey goatboy,

You might want to double check that you don't have an extra share folder or two lurking about in your config.

There's a recent discussion here where (what sounds like) your predicament was described at length.

Mick.
