Problems

OK, installed and set up V2.13 today (first beta I've tried), almost immediately re-installed 1.4. There were all kinds of basic problems, making me think something is not set right on my comp. For example, I couldn't right click on any of the shows listed in the guide to get it to do anything. All of the buttons at the left when checking out a show (i.e., after you go into the guide and select a show, the menu where it says, "watch this show," "record," etc.) do absolutely nothing. It would stay on whatever channel it was already on. The only way I could get it to change channels was by hitting enter to get to live TV and then using page up page down. Also, there was no way to get it to go to sleep, so I had to minimize and listen to all the audio going on while it was watching. Furthermore, because I couldn't right click, I couldn't figure out any way to set it to record a particular show. What am I missing? Please advise someone! Thanks...

If you are using the RW, you need to change the name of your sagetvwinclass from sage.ae to sage.d. This setting is in your RW's plugin ini file.

I'm not sure about the rest of your post, but it has been noted many times that full mouse support has not yet been implemented in the beta. Right clicking, for one, won't do anything so far but toggle the OSD during playback.

Also, ctrl-z puts SageTV to sleep.

I'm sorry - what does "RW" stand for?

Remote Wonder (ATI)

Mouse support is still coming, it was listed in the release notes for the first beta but most people missed it. You might want to check out this thread for commands:
http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...&threadid=3028

Basically right generally takes you into a directory/menu, left takes you out, and enter selects something. You can also check out Detailed Setup -> Commands -> Link... to see how all the commands are mapped.

Ah. No, I don't have the remote wonder. My question is really about how to do simple things... Since the interface doesn't work (well, I couldn't get it to change channels, record anything, etc.), how do I change channels in interface mode (or is this not possible yet?), how do I record a show, how do I set up favorites, etc.? It seems to me that another thread was more accurate in saying that this is more of an Alpha release than a Beta. That's not a bad thing, per se (i.e., I'm not complaining at all), it's just not as far along as I thought. I have no problem waiting until it's done if need be, but I couldn't get the simple things to work when I just wanted to try it out...

Even some simple things cannot be done with only a mouse as of 2.0.13. It must be that mouse-only users are a minority... and that you've taken a bit of a back seat... my sympathies If you want to use the program as of today, plugging in a keyboard or using a remote control will do the trick.

Yeah, it looks like that's true. I have a remote set up, but since I never watch shows from more than 2 feet away, it's actually more of a hassle to use the remote than the mouse. I don't really understand the draw of keyboard mapping. I'm in IT and I still use a mouse. I guess it's just what you're used to. Oh well, I guess I'll wait...
