No Audio on HD200 for mkv HD files..

Just got the HD200 unit up and working in extender mode. On my pc using Sage TV, the mkv file (blu ray rip) will play the file beautifully, however the extender will only play the video, not the audio on this movie. All other video files seem to play properly on the extender.

Is there a troubleshoot to get the audio working? I have the latest updates on both STV and the HD200..

thx for your help

ps..I am connected to my hdtv by hdmi. I do not have home theatre sound, only the TV sound..

what audio format(s) / tracks are in the mkv? Which ones did you include when you ripped it?

Since this is the case you will only get sound from mkvs with AC3 audio. since most TVs can only play AC3 or PCM 2channel audio.

DTS and others will not play. The only way to get sound out of these is to also have an AV receiver that can decode DTS etc.

There are exceptions My samsung LCD tv can play some DTS tracks that my marantz 2600 cannot.... I suspect the DTS is at too bigger band.

Did you setup your extender to PCM digital or Bitstream digital? I had the same problem until I switched to Bitstream digital audio output.
