SageTV Service Won't Start
I backed up the SageTV directory after stopping the service. I tried to install the latest jetty plugin web server. I also have nielm webserver installed. The service would not start afterward. I renamed the c:\program files\SageTV directory, then copied back my backup. The services still will not start. I tried reinstalling 6.6.2 and still not starting. Any thoughts?

I suppose the standard things to do would be to make sure no customizations are in use and check the debug log. You tried a reinstall, but if you didn't clear out the install directory, you still have the properties files and any custom JARs & so on. If using Vista/Win7, check the VirtualStore.

Thank you very much, Andy. The debug log helped. It had to do with the batch metadata plugin. In the debug log file it was searching for a host it could not resolve and giving a Java error. I imagine it was doing this for all of my 2 TB of recordings.
Anyway, I removed this line from the properties file and it came right up: mediafile_metadata_parser_plugins=org.jdna.sage.MetadataUpdaterPlugin I noticed in the debug log this syntax next to the error. Searching lead me to the plugin. The directions told me what line was controlling it. So this has been resolved.
