Help me understand this please

So I'm currently a Windows 7 MC user and have played with Sage in the past. I'm checking out the current version of Sage and would like to explain my setup and what I'm seeing and see if someone can help me understand how it's working.

Simple dual core AMD mobo with PVR-500, PVR 150, and AverMedia hd duet. Setup both PVR tuners and then did duet. Edited sage.properties file to change ATSC to QAM and then did a channel scan. Found 87 tunable digital channels. Now in my program guide I see (for example) channel 5 and channels 5-1 (also listed as 92-5-1) and 5-2 (listed as News5+). From MCE I know that 5-1 is the HD version of channel 5. 5-2 is an affiliated channel that shows completely different programming.

When I first did the channel scan all the digital (X-1) channels were showing "No Data". Once I tune one of them then that changes to show program data.

So, I click on survivor: Heroes and Villians tonight at 7pm. From MCE, if I wanted to record this show and prefer an HD version I would just go into options for that show and say first run and set source as 'HD preferred'. I try to do the same thing in Sage. I click on the show and say add as favorite. In Fav Details, I choose First Run and then go into channel. It says 'Currently no channels air this favority'. Huh? I just saw it in the guide. I don't want to select 'Any' as I want the hd version if possible. But I want it to drop dwon to analog if necessary.

What am I missing? This part of sage seems broken compared to WMC.

SageTV will automatically choose to record an HD version, using an HD tuner, if it's available, so that's not necessarily an issue. For what you saw, are you sure the episode was flagged as a "first run" in SageTV's guide? I generally avoid setting the "first run" option because it's not 100%, since it's based on the accuracy of the guide data. Once you flag an episode as "watched" in SageTV, it won't record it again (normally... you can force it to, though), anyway, so you don't need to worry about that occurring as well.
