Am i doing something wrong?

It seems the majority of my movies are all 'missing' metadata. Yet when I select each one and press 'find metadata', BMT immediately finds the metadata no problem. I save it and it no longer appears in the 'missing metadata' category.

I thought BMT automatically finds the metadata? It seems odd that I have to go through each movie when BMT seems to quite easily find the metadata, and there is only on in the list to select? It seems like I've done something wrong here?

BMT automatically adds metadata/fanart to movies AS THEY ARE ADDED to your library. So, if you had 1000 movies in your sage library, and then you installed BMT it WILL NOT automatically scan those movies, since they've were added before bmt was installed.

From the Web UI, you can navigate to a folder (ie, select a view, navigate down into folders, if requireded), and instead of selecting an idividual item to edit, click the "Update Metadata" button at the top of the view, and this will "Update Metadata" for all item in that current folder, and it's children.

Thanks. I think what happened is my wiz.bin got corrupted as I noticed that all my favourites were gone, etc. I think this was also the cause of the metadata issue I reported in the other thread. Indeed when I checked the Sage folder I noticed there was a wiz.bincorrupt file there.

I'm not familiar with what might cause wiz.bin corruption but I suspect BMT as a possibility. When I revert back to 7.0.20 and the wiz.bin I was using before the 7.0.23 upgrade, favourites are still gone and a bunch of TV series and movies metadata is all wrong. When I use the wiz.bin from 7.0.17, all is well again. The only thing that changed between 7.0.17 and 7.0.20 was the failed upgrade to the latest version of BMT/Phoenix.

Anyway, let me know if you'd like any logs to investigate and if so, where I might find them. I've successfully reverted to the 7.0.17 wiz.bin and it seems to be working well and isn't that old, so I'm good to go on that front. That also fixed all the metadata issues I was reporting in the other thread so that's taken care of as well.

Thanks again for your time.

BMT cannot create a corrupted wiz.bin. That might be hard to believe, but while bmt can erase all your metadata, delete files, and incorrectly assign metadata, it does all this using the published SageTV apis. It doesn't do any "trickiness" behind the scenes, etc. I would say that the biggest thing that changed between .17 and .20... was sagetv itself. BMT failing to install, is simply a case where the jars are not updated, or out of sync, which I have seen happen from time to time. But even in those cases, it cannot corrupt a wiz.bin.
