Doubly Impressed now
OK, I bought a second PVR250 today, put it in the box, 5 minutes later I'm recording two programs at once.
Way cool! I've just spent the last 3 or 4 weeks struggling to get MythTV working, and, although I got two WinTV Go's going eventually, I couldn't get one PVR250 working in it. (2 WinTV Go's use about 70% CPU on a Athlon XP 2800+) On the other hand SageTV with 2 PVR250's recording use about 8% on a P4 1GHz (with one playback as well uses about 70%...) (and takes about an hour or two to set up instead (at least for me, with XMLTV etc)) ![]() I have another PVR250 on order.. (Is 3 the limit, or could I fit 4 in, since I have another spare PCI slot )I have a question/problem/suggestion though. If I am manually recording two programs at once, on the two tuners, all works well. But if I then want to watch them live, there's no easy way (that I can see) to switch between them, if I use CH+/- then I get asked if I want to stop recording to view intermediate channels, so I have to type in the channel number to switch. Maybe the prompt saying 'do I want to stop recording' could give me an option to go to the next channel being recorded? Last edited by pscs; 05-10-2003 at 02:07 PM. |

There is no limit to the amount of tuners you can use with SageTV. If you have another spare PCI slot, go for it!
With regards to your question on manually recording two programs at once and viewing them. It's best to choose those programs to view in the Guide. Using Ch +/- makes SageTV think you want to actually switch "Live" channels being viewed so that's why it's prompting you.
