How to remove encoder and lineups from properties file?

I know this has been answered before but I can't find the post. How do I completely remove encoder information AND the lineup information (including all channels mappings) from the properties files?

Not completely clear on the question. You're looking for a way to do it through the UI? Through the API? I don't think there is such a way.

If you're talking about manually editing the properties file, the "how" is obvious: you select the lines and delete them.

If you're asking which lines to delete, just from looking at mine it looks like the following would be the obvious candidates:

ChannelScan/[capture device]/*
epg/channel_lineups/*
epg/lineup_overrides/*
epg/lineup_physical_overrides/*
epg/service_levels/*
epg_data_sources/*
mmc/encoders/*

Alternatively, look for lines of the form

mmc/encoders/[numbers]/provider_id=[more numbers]

and delete any properties that reference those numbers.

(But of course make a backup before you delete anything.)

I am looking to delete them by editing the properties file. As you point out there are a lot of different entries. I want to make sure I get the right ones.

I've been having some strange "Halt Detected in Recording" errors that I am trying to debug. One of the things I notice is that the lineups on my analog tuners have some strange channels (when viewing from the UI config screens) that do not exist (like channel 0). I have all of these strange channels disabled but am wondering if they are causing errors anyway.

My idea was to remove ALL properties that have to do with the encoder card and reinstall it from scratch.

On a related note, are there any instructions for cleaning out old encorder and providers information? I remove an encoder from the server without first removing it from a source in Sage and I don't want to put the hardware back in just to get ride of it. From looking at my sage.properties file it's not completely clear to me what I should get ride of as there seems to be encoders and providers that I don't recongnize.

Is there any way to get Sage itself to clean this up now that the devices are no longer connected?

My properties file is so old I'm not sure what's needed anymore and what's not needed. To tell the truth I'm considering deleting it (after making a copy of course) and starting from scratch.
