Playback of ISO files with SageTV v7

I am trying to get this working, but having a hard time. SageTV doesn't list the ISO images in the video library at this moment, so that's the first thing to solve for me. I have looked through the forum but can't find the steps needed to get it working.

I am running SageTV v7 (beta 20) as a service on a 2003 server with a network user which has poweruser privilages on the server.

What have I done:
- Read through the manual of v7, but can't find any information about this subject????? So used the forum to get information.
- Installed VirtualCloneDrive on the server.
- Activated two virtual players (I have read one isn't enough on the forum, but do not know why).
- Shared them on the network (not exactly sure if this is needed).
- Did SageTV instruct to rescan the library. Unfortunately the ISO images are still not in the video library on the server.

Can someone please let me know what the steps are to get this working on two clients? Is it for example necessary to install VirtualCloneDrive on the clients?

chances are good that your issue is with that power user account that is running the Sage service.

You need to make sure that VirtualCloneDrive and Sage are both running under the same user account.

There was supposed to be a bug fix where this wouldn't be necessary any longer, but I know that's what I had to do to make it work for me.

You may also need to promote that account to full admin privledges, but I would just try getting them both running under the same one first.

Oke so I am going to try to run the VirtualCloneDrive service under the same account as SageTV service. Going to try right away.

What do you mean by running VirtualCloneDrive and Sage running under the same user account. I can't find any service related to VirtualCloneDrive, so no idea how to find out which user is used. Thank you for your help so far!

Oke solved the issue of not getting the ISO files in the video library after reinstalling VirtualCloneDrive with the same user as I use for the SageTV service. Kind of strange this is necessary, but it is working.
For the installation of VirtualCloneDrive I had to elevate the user to administrator, but after installation I removed this and it is still working.

Now I have to solve the issue the files aren't playing on the clients. Will try it with unc's to see if it solves the issue.

Oke solved all issues by:

- You have to install VirtualCloneDrive on the server and client. On the server you have to install VCD with the same user you are running the SageTV service. For the installation of VCD it might be necessary to give the user administrator rights. After the installation you can remove this.
- You have to use UNC (\\server\xxxx) to get it working.
- You need to greate two VCD drives, or more for each extender you are using (not sure about this).
