Get rid of imported videos in recordings

I had this figured out in version 6, but I can't get it right in 7. I want the recordings views in sage to only include files physically residing in my recording directories. I've spend a good deal of time trying to find answers in other posts, but I can't seem to make it work.

I move recording that I wish to keep forever out of the recording directories on my sage server and onto my unraid server. That keeps the list of recordings down to only shows I don't care about that much or have not yet watched. I use the archive flag in recordings to tell sage to keep a file it might automatically delete after I've watched it before I get a chance to move it to the unraid server.

In version 6, to do this I had to remove the showID from the file names after I moved a file to the unraid server, it only showed up in imported media.

In version 7, sage is still finding the files, despite removing the showIDs. I know there is supposed to be a new setting related to importing tv shows as recordings, but for the life of me I cannot find what menu it's on. I found it in one of the betas and I disabled it, but I cannot find it in the current version.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I believe the setting is in the Menu Options -> Advanced Options for the Video's menu. It's called TV Recordings in Import Directories are: Recordings/Imports.

V7 also embeds meta-data into the file itself, so you mightbe seeing the effects of that. Changing the name of a file won't touch the embedded data.

Right, that property i discussed in the previous post disables the re-import to recordings using that metadata. If a file has that metadata, and that metadata contains sagetv recording information, by default, sage will bring it back into the recordings screen. If, however, that setting is set to 'Imports', it will leave them in the video library instead.

Thanks. Found it.

For anyone else searching on this... here is where the option is:
From within Imported Video, select options->menu options->advanced options. From a UI perspective, this seems to me like a setting that should be duplicated in the standard setup menu instead of buried in an options menu, but thats a nitpik.

So if I follow those steps, then TV shows I move to my imported directories will no longer show up under recordings but instead imported videos?

I couldn't find it. I looked in General... Media Center Imports Direcories... it's not in the submenus. I looked around the other menu trees and didn't see it there either.

I had no trouble finding the menu and making the setting change:

From within Imported Video, select options->menu options->advanced options.

However, after making the change and rescanning my imported videos, nothing changed.

Dave,
It's not in the Detailed Setup area at all. You have to actually go into the Video's page, and from in there, press the options button, and choose menu options.

Thanks Fuzzy! That's an important detail left out.

I was trying to set it on the computer directly instead of the HD-200. In the HD-200 I selected 'Video', 'Video by Folder', click the 'options' button on the remote control, select 'menu options', 'advanced options', 'TV Recording in Import Directory are: Imports'.
