treat underscores as space

hopefully this hasn't been asked before.

dvd rips many times have _ as spaces in the titles. is there anyway to have the metadata tools treat this as a space do i do not have to manually edit the meta data?

Others use ".", etc,etc. It's far easier to just use the most popular convention:
Movie (year).
