HD picture alignment

After a 1 year hiatus, I've dusted off the HTPC and upgraded to Sage 7. I've got everything working pretty well now, except for live TV and recording playback. The picture quality is great, but the alignment is off. The picture is offset to the lower right. I'm using HDHR tuners for QAM channels. The interface itself is aligned properly and DVD playback is aligned correctly on the screen. Any ideas on how I can align TV and recordings correctly?
Thanks,
Shane

You need to look at your video drivers and any settings/calibrations you can do from there. If that doesn't solve see what calibrations your TV has.

But, why would the user interface and DVD playback be aligned properly, but not recording playback? Normal TV playback looks fine from my set top box. It's just Sage recordings and live TV through Sage that has the problem. Is there a separate setting/alignment just for recording playback that I'm missing?

The user interface is adjusted thru the overscan settings in the Detailed Setup of Sage. Since you said that was fine and it was playback of recordings that wasn't, there are only so many controls over that. Since I overlooked that DVD playback is fine try picking another decoder in the video/audio portion of Detailed Setup and see if that makes a difference.

I played around with the audio/video drivers with no luck. I'm noticing that when playback starts, the picture is shifted lower and right different amounts each time. It's not consistent other than being wrong. Any ideas on other things to try/adjust?
Thanks

since its shifting differenent amounts your tv is probably doing it. Most/all plasma tv's (dont know about lcd) shift the image sporatically to prevent image burn in. Look for an option like picture orbit, or image burn prevention, or picture shift, or some such.... and disable that... i disabled it because i didnt like how the ui kept shifting on me

I was having this same problem with playback on a newly installed HD PVR. Changing the decoders solved it for me.
