Free v7 update for v6 license bought after December 1, 2009

"License Notes: SageTV Media Center for Windows is a free update if you already own a license for it that was purchased on or after December 1st, 2009."

A questions for those that did the free upgrade:

I am having difficulty locating the copy of my license bought in May 2010, but if I find it; I just use that same license number once I have upgraded to V7 (will it ask for it again?) and the software knows that is one of the "grandfathered" licenses or does this require contacting support to get a replacement v7 license.

99% sure that licenses bought after that date will work in Sage7 without an additional license.

I updated to ver7 by installing over existing ver6. I did not have to enter the key again. Fresh install on new hardware should take the original key. If you lost your key contact support (its back up) and they should be able to resend it to you.

I installed V7 over V6 and it did not ask me for a key so all is good.

I got an email back from Sagetv but they did not answer the question (which you guys have done above!), but I found this bit interesting:

"Unfortunately at this time we are not selling software or hardware." - maybe I am reading too much into the "at this time" but if they were not ever planning to ever sell either I am guessing that they would have used different wording.
